fishies' heads

the speeding ticket i got for doing 75mph down this long, straight, empty road cost me the equivalent of almost 2BC (two 'bottles of champagne': the new currency we use to measure all expenses now)
52500kr (about £360)
the speed limit here (55mph) SUCKS balls and the police can do you from their moving cars as they drive towards you.
you see a car in the distance, immediately it turns on it's blue lights and then blocks the road in front of you.
busted.
the nice policeman said 'what do you have to say about your speed?'
i said, 'i didn't feel like i was going fast"
'how would you like to pay your fine?' he asked, whipping out his conveniently-to-hand credit card machine.
:(

after a bit at the blue lagoon, drove south eastish along the scenic coastal road towards vik.
the crap nav didn't work so it took a while longer to get to where we were going.
when clara's map reading skills were called into question, she protested, 'f*** you: i've got a duke of edinburgh silver medal award'
bunny answered, 'why don't you have a gold medal?'
and of course, we kept stopping to take photos.
got onto a glacier at dusk.
got off it in the dark.
arrived at the hostel/ hotel too late for their kitchen.
so the owner cooked us dinner himself.
icelandic people are very hospitable.
