a busy day in motor city
started the day right by getting deliberately lost driving round detroit.
found ourselves in some quite unusual places...

till we realised we were driving through an art installation, this was all kind of freaky.
read more about the heidelberg project here and/or here.
this art is amidst VERY run down housing: much of it's falling apart or burnt out.
the kind of place english folk would only see on an episode of 'the wire'.
it reminded me of being in ghettos in mali or joburg: similar vibe too.
was a little sketchy in places: not the usual tourist destination.
ms.hood and myself were sticking out a little: driving round in the PT Cruiser (yuk) shooting stills.
and left before anyone started shooting back.
there are some great empty warehouses on the waterfront near downtown.
but what could you do if you lived in motor city?
now the engines aren't running.

mini golf obstruction #1
as you may already know...
me and ms.hood like to play mini golf whenever possible.
we play in any condition (sometimes hungover or still drinking) and have played in many different countries.
i HATE regular golf.
today's game had many obstructions beyond the freezing cold and wind.
first was the amount of worms on the course.

mini golf obstruction #3
ms hood lost and blamed it on her own everyday obstruction

colt AR-15 M4 carbine
yesterday i was invited to check out 'action impact': a shooting range in southfield.
semi-automatic 'machine gun' fun was had.
just 40 rounds was enough to let my shoulder know all about it.

first 20

second 20
this time with a few 'double taps'.
not such a close cluster but apparently more on target.

after late lunch/ early dinner, ducked into a cinema to catch 'the watchmen' which was ok.
it was raining when we went inside.
when we came outside, it was a blizzard and the snow was settling thick.

i do NOT want to get snowed in here.
we're leaving at 4am on the return journey home back to blighty...
