first day back at school

first day back at school

today was also maximum's first night at cubs, having graduated up from beavers over summer.

i was expecting to pick him up and hear how much fun he'd had.

but as i arrived i saw him bending his face down, right next to the nose of an unknown rottweiler whose owner seemed to be having difficulty holding it back on a lead.
this follows yesterday's moment when mrs.perou had to intervene when maximum was doing the same with an unknown stafffordshire bull terrier.
just one day later and he's already forgotten.
some things just DON'T go in.
or maybe they go in one ear and straight out the other.

i couldn't help myself from delivering the fatherly, 'what kind of stupid are you?'
immediately knowing this isn't the right thing to say and kicking myself.

then i was met by maximum's new cub leader who told me she needed to speak to me about maximum's inappropriate (bad) behaviour during the evening.

maximum isn't 'bad'
but he's taking 'artistic' temperament to the extreme.

we're starting to concern ourselves over his often irrational / unusual responses to the world.
he might be a genius.
but/or maybe he needs professional help.
