buon giorno
photographed roberto coin at his office, outside his office and at his stunning villa overlooking vicenza.
roberto was a generous, large character and was happy to share many stories and his views of the world.
he was kind enough to give us a short history of vicenza and talked extensively about everything from politics to jewllery, ways to behave, celebrity etc.
his memoirs (when he gets round to write them) will be well worth a read
i LOVE meeting and photographing people who are happy to share their opinions and stories.
quote of the day:
"if i cannot sit down and have dinner with you, it is unlikely i can sell you anything"

...have fun and thuck in
drove to verona and set up to do some retouching in the hotel.
went off in search of burrata for lunch.
failed
:(

i ignorantly thought romeo and juliet was a fictional work by william shakespeare.
but verona is where juliet lived and one can visit her house...which is now covered in chewing gum and graffiti.
the whole courtyard STINKS of juicyfruit: it's disgusting.
particularly amused by the sign which states it is illegal to write on the walls and that there will be a €1034 fine for anyone who does

'eating local food in far-off places' is one of my 6 favourite things to do in life
walked for 'miles' to a tratoria called 'antica toretta' out of the tourist area for dinner.
still did not find burrata on the menu but did have a home-made pasta dish with rabbit ragu which was fantastic.
walked back through empty streets at midnight.
a very good day at the office.
