orchids

some significant points in life, realised this week:
firstly i am growing to enjoy listening to BBC radio 4.
this is deeply concerning as i believe it to be a sign of old age.
secondly i am seeing the beauty and importance of orchids...which is probably also something to do with getting 'to an age'.
i have just returned from an evening out where i was saying goodbye to helen who is leaving my agent's office.
met abrar and willy in the same pub who were remembering, with friends, another friend who hung himself today.
much of the evening was spent talking about the hardships of getting your children into a good state school, friends who are ill, family who have died/ who are dying.
i think this is why i don't go out.
avoiding these conversations keeps me cheerful.
and now, what about the bird flu that's going to mutate and take out millions of the vunerable?
earlier today, i had the pleasure of photographing the 'blue man group'.
i enjoyed the little bit of performance that they did for us, very much.
and after, i had an amazing, special time at abbey road studios with my friends 'underworld' who are currently working with 'gabriel yared'.
wished i could have stayed all day but stayed a short while and didn't take many pictures: scuppered by the lack of light, abscence of a long lens and the noise of my camera.
returned to the factory to purchase a canon 70-200mm f2.8 L IS USM
