life of the artist

life of the artist

spent the morning trying not to drive to amersham to buy THIS

and preparing the sitting room for the floors to be sanded.

at lunchtime DTT to check my newly configured portfolio at my agent's.
more tweaks needed

then worked out of shoreditch house for a while.

before walking over the road to see a jazzy, advance screening in shoreditch town hall, of ross cairn's 'lives of the artists'.
ben and rory from 'between the eyes' produced it.

we sat upstairs in the 'naughty seats' which were good but tremendously uncomfortable compared to the chesterfield sofas that 'relentless' had brought in for the night.

being back in shoreditch town hall brought back a few heavy memories.

'whirlygig' used to be held there: the hippy club that was alcohol free (but acid infused) that ended the night with the lowering of a parachute which was held and wafted over the tripping-their-tits-off incumbents.

and i went to a 'class war' rally there in 1991 when i was a student at PCL.
i went to take gritty documentary pictures.
but my camera was taken off me on the door just after someone was stabbed in the neck and i had to sit through an hour of hate speeches which freaked me out.

'lives of the artists' is a beautiful film: cinematography's stunning.
check it HERE or wait till it hits channel 4 on 17th dec(?)

dropped in at MPC in soho to catch 'the' commercial again and to see some post production workings.
this commericial hits uk tv on boxing day (26th dec)
it's very simple but looks and works great.
PROPS all involved.

back to kings cross for sleeps at 'rough luxe' again.
which is becoming a pleasant habit
room 5 is 'mine'
soon i'll be asking to keep a toothbrush here.

perhaps i should 'maintain' room 5 permanently?
living in hotels seems to have gone out of fashion.
the only person i kind of know, who kind of does it, is 'craig david'
