(annoyingly good photos: Lucy perou...some people make it look easy)

welllll, you know it's been tough: getting through lockdown: no furlough, no self-employed kick-back, magazines and clients folding round my ears.

needs must: time to don the high-vis, invisibles.

this morning as z was coming out the shower, i was already dressed like this, ready for business

'come on son. put your fluoros on: we're going out to sweep the street'

z looked a little troubled: 'i havent got any fluoro'

'why not?' i asked, deadpan

'i've never HAD any fluoro' he protested, looking a little upset: like he'd done something wrong and was unprepared for this moment in life

'how are people going to see you in the dark?', i asked

z finally realised i was joking

*Lucy says this is a clear sign that my children do not have a normal father: that they could believe that i am sincere when i excitedly meet them in full fluoro and tell them to hurry up and help me sweep the street.

some of you may recognise the 'House of Hackney' wallpaper (from Marilyn Manson by Perou: 21 Years in Hell)

we have black in the library (seen here) on the wall behind the projector screen

and pink in the hallway

Manson has blue in one of his rooms COINCIDENTALLY: we did NOT coordinate

JUST in case your confused, I'm STILL a GREAT British photographer: this new outfit is NOT for role-playing in the bedroom OR a new career on the railway tracks next door

it's PPE for the project that I've been trying to put together for months about to be underway

i got a matching set for my assistant Maria and bought her some steel toe-capped boots for her birthday
