(peacock on board...as mrs.perou texted)

so, what with all the other action going on at the moment, i've neglected to mention that the surviving peahen, 'jezebel' completely freaked by the devastation of her sister by that fox, upped tools and left.

she wasn't laying eggs and hiding somewhere, as was perhaps thought.
she'd managed to walk/fly over a dual lane road and land up in a primary school 2miles away.

a helpful dinner lady then relocated her to a farm 30 miles away so mrs.perou collected her back this afternoon.
bird's been on a road trip.
now utterly freaked (and probably saying 'bollocks i'd thought i'd left this place behind') and back in a welcome pen...for at least the next two weeks.

hamilton is happy.
but acting a bit weird: he's sat on the roof of the barn near, but not next to ruby (who is ignoring him as usual).

other news today...(not much happens down t'farm)

james continues in the office to be.
me and brian have been extreme gardening.

a nappy-less z did a turd in the playroom
mrs.perou said 'what's that?'
z said, 'dog poo'.

maximum did 21 lengths of the pool!
:0
he's 5.
he's a chip off the old block.
i could swim 2 miles when i was 10.
but my first swimming award (as we discovered tonight) was for a length of the training pool (in haywards heath leisure centre) when i was 7.
maximum is way out in front.

i was/am a champion breast stroker ;)

the graveling of the drive and the laying of 100m of reclaimed red bricks (for edging) begins tomorrow morning.
