maximum was awake all night: not halucinating from the paint fumes but endlessly crying 'ow...ow...owy: my ear hurts'.
i tried to explain to him that his ear might hurt less if he stopped shouting 'ow, my ear hurts' but this did not help.
he is the exact opposite of a brave soldier (and z in this respect) and REALLY hams up the pain.
i find it hard to remain calm (and caring) at these times.
mrs.perou took him to the doctors and on arrival there maximum puked everywhere much to the unamusement of the assembled others in the surgery.
he has a viral ear infection.
not the norovirus.
he is once more, off school.
z can count to thirteen.
the new semi-shiny black floors in the house look fantastic: better than we had hoped (pictures will follow).
i spent the first two hours of this morning getting absolutely soaked 'doing' the gutters and drains.
there were plants growing in some of our overflowing down pipes.
my office thatch leaked badly in the torrential downpour and the rain found frances' keyboard.

a man called rod came over to see what carpentry we'd like him to do.
another man called steve and his associate came over to quote on much (other) decorating we'd like to get done, inc. the complete exterior.
pete 'the thatch' came over to look at the leaky thatch.
granny ali came over to look after the kiddas although maximum has slept most of the day.
today, frances is shooting a big feature for attitude magazine...
