KILL THE CHICKEN
this is the end, my friend...
having asked everyone locally if they fancy off'ing our old cock and having no offers, it fell to me to do the deed.
i thought i would have more of a problem with it.
but actually it was quite a stress free occasion for 'cock' and me.
when you hang a chicken upside down, they just hang still.
so i tied him by his feet and gently slashed through his jugular with a razor blade.
he didn't struggle and he didn't make any noise.
i'd rather NOT meet my maker this way.
but it was quick, quite painless.
:(
i would apologise to all y'all vegetarians and vegans out there.
but no.
this is the way things go in the countryside.
we have just been keeping chickens for eggs...but soon we'll be having them for dinner too.
and, i think it's right that if you want to eat meat, you should be prepared to give an animal a happy life first and then kill it yourself, gently.
we won't be eating cock.
he'll be having an air funeral...without the vultures.
today i worked out that the reason i have been hearing more music out of the right i-stick on my desk (that has been bothering me for the last year and a half) is because i set them up that way 4 years ago when i was living at the factory and one was in a book case further away from my desk.
my aural enjoyment of everything is SO much better now.
i can't believe i didn't think to check the balance until today...
spent the rest of the morning picking up frances from the station and then clearing out her old office at the farm.
(we share a larger barn now).
slowly we are getting clear of shit and the farm is coming together.
we'll have been here for two years in august.
rod, is doing sterling work in the barn with the undercarriage insulation and featherboard paneling.
it's actually warm in my office for the first time ever.
and it only leaks when it rains.
the concrete floor is still turning to sand.
today i had to work out what my incomings and outgoings are: so that the court can assess how much they'll fine me for my speeding infraction.
the good news for the fine but bad news for life is that i am currently hemoraging 4x what i earn every month...HAHHAHAHHAHHAAA...what recession?
btw. old REM up here for the first time in many years since i shot it.
