thistle do nicely
picked up ms hood in kings x (where she was waiting on a street corner: how old school).
had trouble parking as they appear to have demolished the old station car park.
loaded up on my favourite pret artisan baguettes and iced, spiced buns from m&s.
was very disappointed to find m&s out of my latest craving: packets of giant raisins and sultanas.
pah!
took the train to edinburgh for 4.5hrs.
we decided to train not fly because a) ms.hood hates flying and b) more relevantly because it's better for the environment: oo! check us ooot!
watched 'son of rambo' on the way up.
dull, over-rated film with predictable ending.
checked into our jiggy apartment on royal mile just down from the castle right in the middle of everything.
very excited to be in edinburgh during the festival.
have always wanted to be here for it but coincidentally haven't before.
walked around a watched some buskers for a while.
real buzz on the streets.
edinburgh is a beautiful city.
whenever i go somewhere (foreign) i like to eat the local food.
had dinner at the witchery which was incredible.
walked down through town to the spiegel gardens; and caught the end of the brilliant 'tiger lillies' in the spiegeltent.
and then watched the main event for us: 'la clique'.
it was INCREDIBLE!
i was amazed and i laughed so hard i almost wet myself.
the show comes to london soon.
REALLY worth checking: it won't disappoint.
we sat behind mr.kevin spacey who's entourage congratulated us backstage after the show (strangely).
more weird was ms.hood realising that the kid sat behind us was will poulter who plays 'lee carter' in 'son of rambo'.
left the tent at 1.40am and walked back to the apartment by 2am
