met ben (chamberlain) at the hippodrome and had a guided tour through the hidden and forgotten upper parts of the theatre.
amazing!
especially interested to hear about when the theatre first started with a massive water pool with polar bears and seals etc...
and possibly people diving in from the minstral's balcony.
bumped into steve hall (JBO) and jeff barrett (heavenly) on old comptopn street and stopped off for a 'beer'.
mrs.perou used to work for steve, which is where I met her.
it's strange I haven't met jeff before, especially as we have many mutual friends.
love many of his bands.
listened to some GREAT stories about early 'happy mondays' days.
stopped off at 'between the eyes' and caught up with ben (pugh).
drove west to meet 'grace jones' to discuss what we'll be doing together soon.
she is INCREDIBLE.
i think we got on.
i left with a portrait she's drawn of me, signed 'grace jones loves you'
i left her with two (bad) drawings I did of how I might photograph her, signed 'perou loves you back'.
i'll post the picture she did of me when I've scanned it.
i'm excited about shooting grace.
even though I promised to get naked on the shoot...ur...
i can kind of hold my own (so to speak) in a japanese baths but i'm no 't-bone terry richardson'.
