dark side of the tablet

spent an hour calibrating mine and frances' screens to the printer's.
it's been a while.
tings were WAY off.

then both spent 4 hours both frantically retouching some sample shots of led zeppelin to go with the contacts.

booked a bike to collect the package (£130 one way: here to london) and make it to management by 5pm.

bike turned into a van (normally a cunning trick but quite unwelcome today) and was subsequently 1hr late.
that's after driving past frances who had gone out onto the road to catch the lost driver who ignored her and drove past getting further lost.

grrrrrrrr.
when he did turn up, i thought frances was going to lamp him.
an apology would have been nice instead of an 'uuuuuurrrghhhh'.

booked an apointment at the us embassy for a new visa.

arnaud came to fit a cunning, networked RAID backup in the house.
so hopefully if the house burns down, the office's drives will be ok and vice versa.
heaven forbid a plane lands on the farm and takes out everything simultaneously.

just need a power supply backup thing now in case of power cut and we should be pretty stable and more securely backing up.
this hasn't been cheap.
but is necessary.
like the air conditioned, humidity controlled room i store my many files of negs in now.

this news just in:
we have a new leak in a rusted through cold water mains pipe.
up comes the limestone tiled kitchen floor ahoy...
there will never be an end to the money we'll be spending on this shambolic parlour of ours.
