birds at large
this was the sign on the door leading into the orchard that used to have free range chickens, ducks and peafowl running around in.

it will be the sign on the door of my new studio (when i get one).

spent most of the day building up my forearm muscles and shredding the skin on my arms (i look like a self-harmer now): started with 50 ft of 8ft high and 4ft deep hedge trimming.
then removed 7 of those annoying self seeding trees that had been left to take over.

the lady who had been living here before the previous owners, has let us copy a load of her ancient photos of the farm and house dating back to the beginning of photography.
an incredible archive.
in a lot of the pictures, it's clear how meticulously the grounds were kept and how out of control things are now.

i could work full time in the gardens here.
i'd be skint.
but i'd be very happy.
i'd also be knackered (as i am now).
i like a bit of manual labour and working up an honest sweat.

plumber tim came to fix the leaky water main.

today's big love goes to rick from 'underworld'.
