last night this morning
after watching maximum's school nativity play, i boosted to town and checked in at the delightful 'rough luxe' hotel in kings x.
it truly is a special place run by lovely people who made me feel immediately very welcome.
it's VERY special.
and there's a in-house hound called 'spud'.
caught a cab to park lane for dinner at 'china tangs'.
gem came and met me there after dinner and then we decamped to sohoho house where mr sharratt also joined us.
ate another main course and drank some more cider.
bored mark senseless discussing the intrincrisities of capture 1 pro 4.5.2 with gem
returned to kings x by 1.30am and was welcomed back to the hotel with pleasant conversation and several more glasses of champagne.
finally to bed very drunk but happy at 2.30am
had forgotten how noisy kings x is (i used to live there in 1993)
woke up early saying 'thankyou: you're splendid hosts but evil people'.
had a delicious hangover curing 'fresh carrot, ginger and orange' juice and marmite on toast before pushing off into the outside world.
i highly recommend 'rough luxe' but don't tell everyone: there's only 9 rooms!
abrar and zakia
after bumping into my friend ben (and his sister) at shoreditch house, deliberately met my friends abrar, willy and zakia there for lunch.
zakia is 2months old.
she is super calm and super beautiful: longest eye lashes i've ever seen on a baby.
i'm actually feeling broody...
or is it just i want a strawberry beanie hat?
