house music all night long

photographed 'the rescues' all day long.

in and out of 'smashbox' studio 1 (the BIG one)

a happy day was had.
despite going through 3 different hassle-bads and phase one p30+ backs.

the first back had a vertical magenta line running through every frame.
the second camera wouldn't fire when i pressed the shutter release
and,
the third camera couldn't focus.

on the third camera fuckup of the day, when the guy from the studio came in to tell me the camera WAS working, i uncharacteristically lost the plot,  using the words, 'LOOK: I AM A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER WHO HAS BEEN SHOOTING FOR 12 YEARS...IF I TELL YOU THE CAMERA IS FUCKED, THE CAMERA IS FUCKED, AND I NEED ANOTHER CAMERA RIGHT NOW SO I CAN CARRY ON TAKING PHOTOS'

super uncool.
frances told me afterwards that i was unnecessarily impolite to the guy form the studio, who was in fact just a commandeered in-house retoucher.

i NEVER lose my temper on a shoot.
but on the 'third strike you're out' i could not stay chilled.


today we learnt what 'LPDC' means.
(film people have abbreviations for EVERYTHING)

finished on time.

was pleasantly surprised not to get a 'ticket' (aka to not have my cameras confiscated and get deported) for shooting on the street (aka jaywalking in the middle of route 2 and pointing my camera in the direction of the sidewalk).

no elephants were harmed in the making of today's photos.

but, there was lots of durty frame.
