i KNEW my ma and pa would have a mask or two kicking about the cellar, along with various other foods to survive a nuclear apocalypse

there's always been 'supplies'

here they are on FaceTime: mum is wearing a fetching green and yellow soviet era mask from Chernobyl and dad seems to be wearing a fetching fetish duckbill (thank the lord, it's not rubber)

yesterday they found some venison steaks in their chest freezer which they said were 'delicious': they were 12 years old (the steaks: my parents are both 82 this year)

today they're planning on eating some tinned beans: best before 2008

my parents will be fine: iron constitutions

my ma attributes this to living through WWII and remembers HER ma picking dandelion leaves down an alley so they could eat 'greens' during the war.

at least they've got the message about NOT GOING OUT now

i've got to stop looking out my window and seeing idiots coming out of the convenience store opposite with a can of coke and a packet of crisps.

i can only attribute this to people not watching the (world) news
