our (collective) first egg

today the chickens and ducks arrived.
we got two running ducks: one black, one white
6 chickens of assorted pure breeds inc. a rhode island red, white leghorns and sussex somethings.
and a cockerel.

one of the chickens got right down to business.
thankyou laying lady bird.
we will enjoy eating your endeveloped spawn tomorrow morning.

the ducks are very, very amusing: vociferous, playful and cheeky.

worked hard in the rain all afternoon to finish off the chicken shed: making it foxproof and rigging up lighting.

it's mrs.perou's birthday.
sara's baby-sitting and we're out for deener.
