spent most of the day felling half a 60ft conifer that had split and fallen in the winds the day before yesterday.
i got soaked through in the rain...but needed to take it apart because it was knackering everything it had fallen into.
from the ring count, it was 21 years old.
half the tree still stands...not sure if i should fell that too: don't want it to take out our nearby victorian gazebo.

had dinner at the sportsman in seasalter which was deeelicious.
ali was baby sitting to give us a rare night without children.

returned to the farm for a few hours sleep before getting up to watch the hatton vs mayweather fight at 4am.
never before have i been willing so hard for someone to win anything.

i've never really cared about boxing...i don't really follow any sport.
but having photographed ricky a couple of times now (once in the lead up to this fight) i felt i had to watch it: send some positive vibes down the box to him in vegas.
it was a MAJOR event.
britsish pubs were open across the country so people could watch the fight in the night.
quite amazing.

tom jones sung our national anthem.
embaressingly some of the english fans in vegas boo'ed through the american national anthem: kretins.

sadly ricky got wiped out in the 10th round of 12.

in a completely overshadowed fight in england, amir khan knocked out his opponent in 72 secs of the 1st round.
