spot the shepherd
two great live shows in the last 24hrs...
maximum's school nativity: part 1.
maximum wasn't amused being a shepherd again (2nd year in a row).
he doesn't really dig the costume: you have to wear a dressing gown and have a tea-towel on your head.
he wanted to be the 'gigantic star' that led the wise men to baby jesus.
the 'gigantic star' gets to sing genius lines (something like) 'i wish i was a little shiny star like every other star' and all the other (little) stars sing back (something like) 'don't worry we like you just the way you are: you're special'.
this would all be fine were it not for the over-politically correct, cringe value of giving the 'gigantic star' role to the 'larger than most', only black kid in the school.
spent the morning adding layers of insulating fibreglass to the gaps between the thatched roof and the walls in my office.
and masking taping up all the gaps in the (single glazed) window frames.
there are 15 double windows in my office :(
and double height ceilings :(
there's still a howling gale coming from somewhere.
i think it's coming under the only tiled bit of the roof and tomorrow morning i'll be boarding that in.
being cold and draughty is not conducive to creative thought.
which may be why i thought i had writer's block re: a video treatment that i was supossed to be writing for a song today.
but have bizarrely cracked that.
good to be reunited with yesterday's chocolate brownies.
of 20 made, 4 remain.
hmmm....
