system failure

my continued wearing of my well applied red nail varnish is causing some consternation in the local area.

doesn't go well with the rest of the farmer look i've been sporting.

in sainsburys i tried to choose the cashier who might make less of a comment.
i chose wrong.
as i was packing my groceries, she caught sight of my hands.

"are you an actor?", she said.

'no', i replied.

"are you...ALL...RIGHT??", she asked.

'yes', i said, 'are you alright?'.

this is a new departure for me.
when at home in the countryside i try to blend in: not cause a fuss: kinda off duty and anonymous...

i think most people that saw me with red nails think i'm some kind of tranny.
