mrs.perou woke early to find both ducklings still hidden under 'mohair': (surrogate) mother and babies all doing well
did an early hour of grass cutting.
then drove to tescos for early weekly shop.
left £230 lighter feeling sick.
this bill only included £10 of booze (a 15 pack of cider) and only three items of meat, two of which were half price as they were going out of date.
things like a 4 pack of small tins of sweetcorn being £2.50 or a small packet of dried mango being £2.50 were really disturbing me to the point i was fighting off a panic attack.
i haven't had a panic attack since i moved to the countryside.
(some might remember 'panic attack asda' in leyton used to do it and most ikeas.
i've been lucky enough (since coming off the dole and housing benefit) not to worry about how much i'm spending on food.
i know i'm lucky to have an income.
really feeling for the people who haven't now: who have lost their jobs recently and will struggle with just the basics.
:(
inflation's pushing up all the time but photographers' editorial rates are the same (or worse) that they've been for the last 10 years.
we should go on strike.
i'll call my union.

as the pool's still out of commission (sadly) we all packed up a lunch feast and rode our bikes down to the beach.
very windy and cold down there but so beautiful: blue skies, hot sun and not a single other person on our 'bit'.
this took almost all day by the time we got back.
although we're just 3/4 mile inland we probably did a 4 mile round trip by the time we got back and much of that was through long grass, over fields.
did some hedge trimming on return to farm and now i'm done...completely
