new fluffy friends at the perou farm
currently fluffy.
they'll end up feathered and white.
these duckliongs are the opposite of ugly: they're SO sweeeeeeeeet.
makes a hard man mushy.

hard to get a photo of (newly named) 'peep' and 'peep' as they're so desperate for a mummy they were trying to bond with anyone inc. the camera.
they're just a couple of days old.
mrs.perou and sons picked them up today from a local farmer.
because our running duck 'mohair' has been so mentally broody for weeks that she's been refusing to come off her home made nest.
idea being that she'd assume ownership of these ducklings and everyone would be happy.
however.
on introduction, mohair just kept pecking at the desperate-for-a-mother ducklings and we had to seperate them again.

so then mrs.perou became foster mum #1 and later i became foster mum #2.
it's been quite an eventful day on farm elsewise.
christened the new shower(room) despite it still missing a door, and a window.
two swallows flew into the house and then wouldn't leave the kitchen: swopping everywhere and chirping as they flew.
when i tried to gesture them out the open door, i was thanked with a warm bird shit to the head.
apparently that's lucky.
i call it a good aim.
the swimming pool is still the wrong shade of cloudy off green.
still unamused by this.

spent most of the day retouching and tweaking pictures.
did a little grass cutting.
and fixed mrs.perou's number plates to her jeep.
eventually we tentatively decided to re-introduce the ducklings to the brrody wanna-be duck mum.
and thankfully the pecking got less aggressive, then eventually stopped and now both ducklings are nowhere to be seen: presumably tucked under the warm wing of mohair.
there is a danger that rats could eat them.
fingers crossed they make it to duck adulthood.
our hen red is also sitting on eggs.
shame our peahen doesn't do the same and we could have a full house of young fowl.
