less we forgot
at the end of 2015, we were exhaustively looking for a house to live in, having sold our farm, looking to downsize.
we were parked up in the car park opposite this house and i said to Lucy, 'what about that one?'
it was considerably overgrown and looked quite derelict but there was a window open at the top of the house and a light was on.
a few days later i stuck a note through the letterbox (as we have done with many other houses over the years) not really expecting a reply
but a week later the lady of the house did reply and said she was thinking about selling soon but she just had 'a few things to sort out'
we started renting a bit of a Jacobean mansion in a forest not too far away
a year and a half later we were extending our rental period again, and again
on july 14th 2017, i took this picture of the house we still hoped to live in
my mentor/counsellor/friend maryann suggested we had this picture pinned to a board in our rental kitchen, for positive visualisation (man)

oct 2017
after a few months of positive visualisation (man) and almost two years after sticking the note through the door, we FINALLY did the deal and bought this house
we bought the house without a survey and only had a little look about
keep the faith!

this was such a nicer view to the procession of people that piss in the corner outside our house or sit in the piss puddle and do drugs
but it was kinda dark
and the hawthorn was growing both sides of the windows: inside and outside

work in progress
the view today
cannot WAIT (but have to) for the pointing to be finished, the last ground floor windows to be painted and in, AND for the scaffolding to come down.
by Christmas it SHOULD be finished-ish, on the outside at least
