please release me let me go...

please release me let me go...

as i clumsily took this photo, one of the the girls (easily) noticed i was photographing her and her friends

i turned around attempting a nonchalant exit, as the same girl started after me shouting 'hey! you!'

when she caught up with me she angrily demanded that i delete the photo that i was taking of her friend.

her friend caught up too

i said 'i'm sorry: i'm just taking pictures of people on the street: i liked your bag. do you mind?'

'no, that's fine'' the friend said and started walking off

i resisted the urge to blow a raspberry and flip a bird at her angry friend

in honesty it was probably the unshapely asscheeks and bag combination of all three girls that caught my camera eye.

anyway

point being, one can legally photograph anyone and anything that is public

it's different if a photographer invades someone's privacy: shoots over a fence, through a window etc...

but when you is on the street with your ass out, you is public and not private.

to be kind and polite, i might have deleted the picture but i would have been under no legal obligation to do so

but

without a model release, i can't use these pictures for monetary gain

and how am i going to get model releases off everyone i photograph on the street?

previously these issues have been addressed by having blanket notices (in places like music concerts) saying 'by entering this venue you consent to being photographed and filmed'

perhaps i should employ one of those planes to write it in the sky over LA?

"by being on the street you consent to being photographed by perou"

not sure how legally binding it might be
