spot the birdy
yes: it's another thursday morning down the gunclub moment.
here's james not shooting birds but shooting clay projectiles imitating fast-assed fowl flying off into the distance.
we're geting pretty handy with the double-barreled twelve bores.
just have to remember to shoot in front of the gypsy clay pigeon so that it flies into the shot.
it's an interesting pursuit: to hit the target you've got to try not to hit the target and to not think about hitting the target...
hand eye coordination: look at the bird not the gun.
same as in tennis/squash etc: you look at the ball, not the racket.
as we were shooting today, a bold/stupid rat was mooching around the base of a tree in front of us.
i wondered if we got extra points for vermin.
but the gunclub doesn't endorse the killing of anything that isn't clay.
shame.
ran out of strongbow at lunchtime and accidentally got wasted on merrydown vintage cider.
spent the rest of the day stumbling round.
did a big food shop at tescos with the family.
and forced ms.hood to keep on with the endless retouching.
