shit is coming

shit is coming

this is the only shot you'll see, that i ever took on the sigma dp1 mark persuaded me to buy from b&h when i went in to replace my snappy camera.

it's beautiful and takes beautiful photos.
but it's going back, utilising the 15 day return guarantee.

too big, too much to think about and no macro.
i've already got bigger cameras with bigger skills which i don't care to carry round.
my snappy needs to fit in a pocket, not cost $750 and shoot adequate snaps when required, quickly and thoughtlessly.

i'm back online.
had to indulge in some identity theft borrowing to get the cable back on here at my apartment in little italy.
what a relief to be reconnected to the world digitally.

frances left at 4.30am this morning: back to blighty.
and mark left for san francisco this afternoon after lunch with me at lucky strikes (the other side of the rat graffiti).

3pm-1.30am today was the first of this trip's secret missions.
it was something like chinese water torture at times.

having arrived 'there' i realised i'd left my wedding ring behind and someone had to be dispatched to collect it.
then i realised that when i sat down there was a 3" gap of leg between my boot tops and trouser bottoms, so someone else was sent out for some longer black socks: what thrills.

doing what i'm doing, i'm doing with some others: 1 who i met again and 2 who i'd not met before.

leaving where i was at 1.30am and getting back to the apartment, i realised that the person who had collected my ring for me still had my apartment keys.
i'd already waved goodbye to the driver so i had to sit on the steps outside in the cold till someone else from where i'd been turned up to let me in.
i'm clearly a nuisance.
but i'm not a diva.

btw. i back posted a picture of the rat graffiti from 3rd.
i shot it on mark's (gratuitous) little snappy: a mamiya 645 with a phase1 p30 back: he rolls wide.
