happy halloween

say hello to the pigs, boys...
is is fitting that we happened to be picking up the dismembered parts of our beloved pigs today?
perhaps.
there was a documentary on fred and rosemary west on tv last night.
i had my sleeves rolled up as i was packing the tasty parts of 4 pigs into bags.
people would call on the phone which i'd answer with my nose saying, 'sorry: can't talk now i'm covered in blood'.
mrs.perou did very well helping, for a reformed vegetarian.
i actually feel quite accomplished.
we looked after the pigs: they had a VERY pleasant life and now we have a freezer full of happy meat to eat.
the perou-mobile isn't quite so cheerful.
i had put a huge builder's sack in the back to stop blood soaking through to the carpet.
but the builder's sack was porous (unbeknown to me) and so i've had to wet-vac out a couple of pints of pig's blood out the boot/trunk carpets.
oops...

this morning i drove to south london with ms.hood to see a property that MIGHT turn into 'le perou usine deux'.
not quite right: will need some structural changes.
but very exciting all the same.
had some elements of the dearly missed 'perou factory' (late of the hackney wick) about it.
same owner occupier for the last 28 years, waiting to retire.
and after bagging up the pork looty, enjoyed a halloween tea with the boys and mrs.perou
