left NY at 6am with ma and pa.
as a rule, i don't speak to strangers on planes.
but i flew next to a very interesting sweedish/american lady which made a long flight short.
in a small amount of time she was able to impart lots of gratefully recieved wisdoms.
our conversation started after she noticed i was 'offsetting my carbon emmissions' (for the first time).
very strangely, considering it was a virgin partnership initiative, none of the stewardesses knew how to do the offsetting as no-one had ever done it before (onboard).
picked up the perou-mobile from west london and returned to farm, slipping into a cold bed at midnight.
the whole house is cold and england dark.
the clocks have gone back.
the house is cold because mrs.perou turned the oil fired central heating on for the first time two days ago and then had to call a fire-engine as there was inappropriate smoke coming out of our chimney.
(z was VERY happy to see a fire engine and firemen at farm...maximum refused to even notice as he was 'busy building something in lego': he is a child obsessed).
the firemen have said we need to get the boiler, chimney and aga serviced...none of which can be done for another week.
so we continue to be cold.
i would say it's GREAT to be home...but it's strange really, despite only having been away for almost 4 weeks.
i find the winter agressive.
i need sunlight in my eyes...daily, and lots of it.
failing good intentions, overslept and didn't help out with the animals in the morning.
then got caught on a powercut, slow motion internet dragging it's heels, capture 1 pro not transferring to the new laptop and having to upgrade to 4.5 (which i don't understand...yet) because ms.hood had caned the license on the old software (gggrrrr).
jetlagged clearly.
grumpy.
fiona, gavin and eadie came to visit.
i got a temporary tow bar fitted to the perou-mobile so i can move the pigs tomorrow.
yes, tomorrow is PD (pigs die) day.
lit a fire.
blew/swept a TON of leaves off a couple of the lawns.
NY seems like a long time ago and a long way away.
:(
i think maybe i should buy a second home in a sunny, war free and way above sea level, warm country...and spend ALL winter there.
instead
S.A.D. lights will be burning...
