a pint of the (un)usual please barmaid

gave up on trying to sleep round 3am.
my cold and sore throat had become intolerable.

since my friend (and co-judge) jenny shimizu introduced me to 'emergen C' a couple of years ago, i've done a good job of avoiding full blown colds...but this one came out of nowhere.

got up and drank 2 pints of hot ribena with a shot of brandy, had some more emergen C and painkillers and relocated to a spare room and watched 'carriers' till 5.30am.

slept till 10.

spent the rest of the day reluctantly retouching in my office.
i would rather have been sleeping.

off the apple nectar stuff and still drinking pints of hot ribena: trying to drown the germs and dilute the snot bung in my head.
