crane fire
took a long walk with maximum, z and stratford, round the back of the old river lea, down regent's canal (seeing the largest fish in fresh water i've ever seen) through victoria park and back.
then packed up the small car and headed off to east sussex to my folks home for a joint birthday bash for me, me brother and me dad (all taurean are not we?).
got as far as the other side of the blackwall tunnel then parked up for an hour (on the a2 pictured, and annotated:oooo) while the emergency services put out a crane fire.
what excitement.
what a drag.
the young lady in pink, in the foreground, is NOT mrs.perou.
arrived finally to meet our extended family (minus a few) a couple of hours late.
my brother used to have a golf gti when 'W' reg (the last time round) was a new plate (1982?).
i took him for a drive up the backroads of our old village (past the manor i used to be a butler in) to show him how golfs have evolved.
he made a lot of comments on how small cars don't suit me...so i think he liked it.
my mum does NOT like it...
made comments about losing licenses for speeding...but i have a clean license: without points...my 68 year old father does not.
:)
blasted (slowly) back to london after baths and milk for our sons.
drove past the burnt out crane on the way back.
it's still jamming the a2.
didn't get a chance to photograph it as i rubbernecked on the way past.
back just in time for a torrential storm: monsoon style.
