HELL D A
started with another happy, short shoot in central london.
part 16 of the 20 shoot series that i'm doing.
the end of this project is almost in sight...phew.
met some good people.
took some good photos.
didn't get arrested or even 'moved on' as we thought we might.
i was photographing someone (tbc) holding a board with nothing written on it.
someone passing said, 'you must be a politician, because you've got nothing to say...'
reg's cousin (who owns the scrapyard nextdoor) came by to discuss our ongoing, mutual 'problem' with the LDA and our compulsory purchase.
after lunch, met crispin and drove down to bristol in bank holiday evacuation, motorway hell.
took 4hrs to get there.
i particularly like this photo by crispin as it clearly illustrates you don't need to always shoot in focus...

wideboy
i had been invited to bristol to do a little talk about things photographic for a photography club.
i'd said 'yes' about 6months ago when i was a LOT less busy.
and i don't like to break arrangements once they're made...so i went.
'it's good to talk' as BT used to say.
i used to find it hard to write (which is one of the reasons i started keeping my diary online).
i also find it hard to speak, in public...so i try and do a bit every now and then: normally at universities/colleges.
i try and put prospective people off becoming photographers: there's too many of us anyway.
had a happy evening and scrolled through 250 odd, odd pictures and answered a few questions.
apparently upset a few people with my lack of technical skills and with my insistance that you don't need to have a picture in focus or the person you're phtographing even in the frame to make a good portrait.
met mark and his brother tim down there too.
mark's got a shot of me on HIS daily diary here.
after the talk we went back to steve's place (who had invited me to bristol) for dinner.
met his lovely wife and their 3 irish wolfhounds (those dogs are HUGE!)
saw some photos and got given a one of a kind 'wideboy'
pictures from which will appear here once i figure it out...
took an hour and a half to get back.
i need to get the R32 restricted as i have a heavy right foot.
crispin was watching futurama in the car on the way back.
it's hard to keep both eyes on the road when there's cartoons playing in the dashboard.
back by 1.40am after dropping crispin back to richmond first.
knackered...
