the london (cross) eye/d

the london (cross) eye/d

another day, another three more shoots.

started with the reshoot.
which was well worth the effort.
although getting there was a chore: for some unknown reason, i decided to drive through the limehouse link tunnel at rush hour which was more like parking in the limehouse link tunnel and every few minutes rolling forwards a few feet.
why can't i fit a studio's worth of lighting on my motorbike?
it's soo unfair.

had lunch at soho house between shoots.
was just saying to frances how i hoped i didn't bump into anyone as i was dressed so casual i was almost wearing pyjamas (and with a beard) when i sat down in front of shambles: he of ch.5, who's in charge of MMASM.
i'm so fashion: i've gone past it and out the other side.

the second shoot of the day was on a roof, dodging thunder clouds and catching some sunshine.
the minute we finished it poured with rain.

drove over to vivienne westwood's to pick up a load of clothes for me, mrs.perou and frances which was part payment from the last campaign i shot for them.
unfortunately all the red label order was forgotten and that was all frances had ordered.
so she didn't get anything.
:(

the third shoot of the day was up the london eye.
we'd hired a pod for just ourselves (£400) but i was told i couldn't take my camera on because it looked 'professional'.

i said, 'yes: it's a professional camera: i'm a professional photographer'.
security says 'well you can't take the bag on, it's too big to fit through the x-ray machine: you'll have to take it to waterloo station (1/2 mile away) and leave it in left luggage while you do this'.
i says, 'i've got my car over there. i'll leave the bag in my car but i'm not leaving my camera in it, it's too valuable'.
'ok' says security 'but you can't take any pictures with your camera'
i says 'what? no-one's allowed to take pictures on the london eye'
'not on professional cameras' says security.
'ok' i says, 'i won't take any pictures on my camera then'

which of course i did.
muppets.
why prejudice people with professional cameras?
you can only take pictures from the london eye if you're using a low quality or 'amateur' camera.

anyway, they didn't x-ray any part of the medium format camera i was carrying, or frances' handbag.
their security was for shit.

unfortuantely the weather was also for shit.
this may also turn into a reshoot.
just can't control the weather...it's driving me nuts: it needs to stay one way or the other.

drove back to the factory with ms.hood very unamused.
unfortunately, vivienne westwood's ordering, like the weather, is beyond my control.

spent as many hours as i could retouching lady sov. pictures.
sat down for some dinner at the same time as big brother was on.
declared 'we're not watching this crap' and then did for the next hour.
grrr...
