happy bonfire night

DTT early (in the dark) for a 3hr PPM for tomorrow's job, refining the finer details of what we'll be doing.
whilst mrs.perou and her mum helped phil the butcher chop up 3 pigs on our kitchen table.
(big thanks to the other phil in our lives for going and collecting the pigs in my absence...feel very lucky to have lots of kind, helpful friends)
sped home after the meeting but missed the action / pig related photo opportunities.
today i lost a big job that i thought i was going to be doing, accross south america, asia, berlin and geneva.
a job i could literally do dead...or maybe just with my eyes shut.
apparently i was my client's first choice but i wasn't THEIR client's first choice, principally because i didn't already have the exact photo in my portfolio that was exactly what i WOULD be doing.
i explained this phenomenon to steve our friend/painter/site manager by saying:
'it would be like i wanted a room painted green,
so i got in three painter's portfolios.
you didn't have a photo of a green room in your book,
so i went with the painter who had painted a green room before and who had a picture of it,
despite me seeing that you were a good painter
and you telling me you're a professional painter so you could paint any room, any colour i liked'
this is more than annoying.
but i can't stay grumpy for too long: i can't shoot everything and i'm happily in a position now that i'm having to turn down work again.
the attic is being / has been painted.
radiators go back tomorrow and the new copper bath.
it looks rude good.
i might move into the bathroom as it's my now my favourite room of the house.
