7:53 (E.S.T)

i've got nothing against F A T people.
except when they're not polite enough to book a fare of seating that fits their blubbery form so i don't have to have it squashed against me for 7hrs.

the flight to NYC in the USA was awful.
it was packed.
in trying to avoid the person's hot fat that was squeezing under and over the armerest between us, i pulled my shoulder and back by sitting at an odd angle for so long.
and the dumbest, most inanley smiling (blonde) stewardess managed to spill mr.fat's beef gravy over my white shirt and trousers.

yes, sometimes i do feel like i'm fighting the world.

i managed to stay calm and polite.
it took some effort.

i was very tired anyway as i was retouching the raveonettes shoot till 1.30am last night/ this morning.

did enjoy 'micheal clayton' and almost 'rendition' on the in-flight.

had an unusally enjoyable chat on the way into manhattan with the cab driver from algeria who was based in new jersey: if he works a 12hr shift he gets to do 4 airport runs.
that is he goes to the airport and waits for two hours (behind 1000 other cabs) picks up a fare and drops them in manhattan, returns to the airport and waits 2hrs to pick up his next ride...etc...
doesn't sound very entertaining.

now i'm back in what sometimes feels like my second home: the apartment that i rent in soho when i'm here.

i'm very fond of this place.
it feels like mine...not that it is.

it's an old tenament building with sloping wooden floors and hissing radiators.
cold in the winter and unpleasantly hot in the summer (especially when the air-cons's not working).

i really didn't want to leave the farm this morning.
i was missing mrs.perou and my sons before i'd even left.

but it feels good to be 'home' in NY
and it's time to get busy...
