went to soho house (NY) to meet the writer and playright, 'kara manning' who has been kindly championing me and my work for some time.
we're both underworld fans.
(she's written a play inspired by underworld's music).
and now we're doing some stuff together.

had delicious hot chocolate and some friendly, interesting, uplifting conversation.
it's such a small world, we realised we have a mutual friend from way back.

part two of my day involved a trip over the water to brooklyn.

mr.clayon james cubitt (aka. siege) had been kind enough to ask me if he could snatch a bit my soul and take my portrait.

i am a HUGE fan of his work.
and have been paying attention to his (often uncompromisingly hardcore AND beautiful) photo blog on 'nerve' for a long while now.

when you read someone's diary online, you might think you know a a bit about them [note]...but internet reality (like tv reality) isn't reality.
so it was very good to meet him in person, and his love KT.

introduced ourselves and chatted for some time and had a short shoot...i even took my glasses off.

back west to the apartment in soho before heading out again.

went to greg's apartment and met some of his friends.
and went to a gig in a small bar in the lower east side.
i don't know the name of the bar or the name of the singer.
it was an endurance test because the singer who had a charming voice sung beautiful, soft, accoustic songs somewhat like lullabies, so i just wanted to go to sleeeeep.
the singer kept looking over as i was trying to hide my yawns.
i'm tired.
i've been walking marathons round manhattan.

i've had a great day though...
despite missing the family after talking about them so much.
it's weird, after a week here, it almost feels like this is my life: single, childless and living in a small apartment in soho tyring to start my photography career.

speaking to mrs.perou, she feels like the week has sped past fast: for me this week here feels like i've been away a month already.
