and ME.

i have had another SUPERB day!

it didn't start so great...with a meeting at an ad agency where the art buyer flicked the pages of my book, not even giving herself enough time to focus on the pages before she turned them.

felt like a waste of life.

but then met up with greg (GG) and hugh (lippe) (best assistant in NY and now starting out on his own).
drove out towards queens to somewhere i've already forgotten that looked like a cross between hackney wick 5 years ago and surbiton.

had a GREAT shoot with the GREAT (and beautiful) 'genesis p orridge'...(who is unbelievably aged 58).

had a really good time in her company.

(thank god for people like genesis).

this is my job at it's best: meeting and photographing inspiring artists and/or and fascinating people.

she gave me the new 'psychic TV' album: 'hell is invisible...heaven is her/e' which is completely genius.
my favourite track (currently) is 'just because': "i like you...i like you...you're very nice..."

there's a track on there for son 1 called 'maximum swing'.

promised to return and shoot more.
it will be a pleasure.

pictures will appear in 'radar' magazine first and here after.

had bite to eat/drink after the shoot with genesis, greg and hugh.
got a car back to town.

greg took me to my favourite shop 'Trash and Vaudeville' in st.mark's place.
then an irish pub for strongbow while i processed the digital files.
and then a korean for dinner.

yes, the hasslebad and a hired 120mm did fuck up as expected.

but apart from that, and my kids and wife not being home (in this country) when i got back, today has been a superb day...

...continued.

...that was until i checked my emails.
my grandma 'ruby' died today quite suddenly (at 93)...i haven't seen her for some months...she's been in a nursing home for some years.
i would have liked a chance to say goodbye.
