it was spitting with rain when i got up so decided to pack up the family and head to the chatham royal docks to soak up some old time, maritime action.
we were there at 10am when it opened.
nobody else there.

six inch or foot long?
the guided tour of the decommissioned in 1991 submarine, 'hms ocelot' was amazing.
i've never been on a navy submarine before.
just the four of us and a guide this morning.
when it was in active service there would be 65 on board breathing recycled air for up to 3 months.
at no point could i stand upright.
it was SO claustrophobic: i imagined it would be tight on space but had no idea quite how bad it would be.
such a big vessel with such small living quarters.
i don't suffer from claustrophobia but i did find the idea of being on board for any time very depressing.
i'm 6ft 3".
apparently their last captain was 6ft 4".
his bunk looked to be 6ft
a truly hybrid machine (now replaced by nuclear subs) it was deisel electric.
mainly it ran on (silent) electric but used two (noisy) diesel 16 cylinder supercharged engines to recharge the batteries: each generating 3680bhp

No.3 slip
the architecture on this place (built for building ships in) was awesome in the truest sense: huge timber beams: breath taking.

the sun came out x2
here's maximum finding some shade: aka. standing in a hedge.
returned to farm
cooked maximum dinner: (our) pork chops, smiley face potato shapes and stir fried carrots and brocolli while mrs.perou took z to a birthday party.
the repaired hose pipe unrepaired itself and has been pissing water away for an unknown amount of time.

this will now become part of tomorrow's issues.
