no so good friday
Frances arrived at the perou factory for 7am but I’d been up since 6.
drove to heathrow to fly air italia to milano.
Had trouble checking in because apparently I had already checked in.
not only was this annoying, but this was also disconcerting being a potential security issue.
They had issued someone else my boarding pass and checked in their luggage: someone without my pasport, name or ticket.
The gorund crew of air italia didn’t seem to think it was a problem despite my concern.
Apparently they only check the first three letters of someone’s name on the ticket and it’s later at the gate that the ticket and passport have to match…only they never check thoroughly there.
Met up with namalee and georgina (the more glamourous half of my crew) and boarded hoping I was being wrong about the security threat, thinking it would be terrible to die and then get the blame for something I didn’t do.
Met up with terri at the airport and got driven into town.
Checked into our 4 star hotel (?) with no internet connection and only smoking rooms available which reeked of ashtrays ie. disgusting.
Met carlo, my italian producer from ‘mango production’ started with some tuna sandwiches and a hot chocolate that was like straight melted chocolate at 10 coso como (the restaurant owned by the editor of italian vogue).
Then spent several hours looking at locations that had been arranged for tomorrow’s shoot.
Later, on carlo’s recommendation, we went to a excellent milanese restaurant round the corner from the hotel.
At the point when georgina was scooping out and eating the bone marrow of her ‘osso bucco’ (pictured) and then finished terri’s too, I realised I was going to be sick…

Managed to make it to the street where I violently redecorated the gutter with everything I’d consumed that day.
Knew I was in italy as the customary ‘carrot pieces’ were bits of asparagus.
I was celebrated on my return for having the presence to photograph my ‘creative output’ afterwards.
I DO like to photograph everything: the good, bad and horrible
