the indispensable frances hood

z has taken to waking up at 2am and waking everyone else up.
this is reminding me why we only have two children.
going through that first baby year of hell again is not appealing.

but i AM broody: z's at such a lovely age now (1 and a half) i wish i could always have a toddler around.
like puppies or kittens (once they've been house trained).
shame children have to grow up into independant, moody, ungrateful adults.

i'm told everything is good till they hit 11...?

i WILL post up some new pics soon: i promise.
most of what we've been shooting recently is on hold till it's to be used.
i still can't get depeche mode to approve me putting up some pictures of them from a shoot last year.

today, i've mown a lot of grass.
unfortunately my new sit on lawnmowers (the one of inferior quality) has already stopped collecting grass.

on advice, i have begun urinating on our front lawn in an attempt to rid us of our friendly mole (who is turning our lawn into cartoon cheese).
however, i am worried this might lead to an indecency charge as our lawn is very clearly visable from the lane that our house is off.
and EVERYONE likes to rubberneck and stare at our place as they drive slowly past.
bring on the big gates and mature hawthorn bushes.

the BIG NEWS on page two of our local paper this week is that a cash point (ATM) broke down in town and people were left 'concerned'...
it's really kicking off...

our postman, who is the source of all 'proper' news tells me i live three doors up from a scottish post-op transexual called martin who has a beard and boobs.
and that another of our locals, known as 'midnight ron' is up on and embezzlement charge.

crispin came down after lunch and i took a moment off lawnmowing to shoot air-rifles at home made targets in the orchard.
we stuck faces on apples and shot them from 30 yds.
i don't want to encourage maximum to fire guns but he was desperate to load for us...so he did.

i will not mention who we were shooting at...or post a picture of what was left of them after 20 well aimed pellets.
but it was quite therapeutic.

the apples are getting ripe.
crispin cooked an amazing apple and almond cake in the aga for dinner.

then we walked the dogs over to the pillbox (that we could own, but don't) in the dark.
the dark here really IS dark.
