bills bought a boat

bills bought a boat

bought a boat (an old mirror dinghy) off the sea scouts at strood who were shifting some of their old stock.

i got the more rotten of the boats because i felt like it was calling me.

it's got a great lightning bolt painted on each side of it...

it's the perfect knackered old boat for a knackered old photographer.

don't know why i got it then...hahahaaaaaa.

floss

floss

steph, seb, florence and otto came over in the afternoon and after spending a while in the pool and after a little lawn-mowing for me, we launched 'flash' into the stream just over the lane from us.

didn't raise the sails (not only because i don't know how to attach the mast) and paddled down stream a while.

sadly, couldn't make it under the road as the tunnel was too small.
so paddled back and went the other way.

stratford joined us.

after a long while of heavy going and hard paddling, we wondered if removing the keel might help (as perhaps it was catching weeds).
i think we'd been dredging the weed all the way up and downstream until that point.
it was much easier being less stable.
(as is often the way)

managed to go upstream under a few more very low bridges (with everyone ducking right down) until stratford (who had disembarked earlier) jumped into the stream forgetting he can't really swim too good.

with a dog overboard, we had to catch up with him and fish the smelly, covered in green thing out.

mrs.p baked a great apple cake and dropped it all over the kitchen floor.
so another was made and eaten.
and a spinach and ricotta pie was baked too.

very tiring day but a very, very happy one.
