avenue
i knew i was onto a bad thing after asking the hotel to book me dinner at a quiet, traditional, low key, simple, bistro last night, when i turned up to a place with a forecourt somthered in chauffeur driven limos.
then i noticed the cutlery which all had COSTES printed on them...?
the place was called 'l'avenue'.
i don't know, but i imagine it's a spin off restaurant from (the not very traditional or cheap) hotel costes.
they brought my side dish of 10 chips stacked like a game of mini jenga.
we sat next to john galliano who i was sure was french...until i heard his very, very english accent.
nice but at a price.
walked back past a sparkly tour eiffel.

black dawg
just before my shoot started (after waiting for 5hrs and eating lunch) i drank some 'black dog' which is a french style 'red bull'.
MISTAKE...
felt like i was coming up on some very speedy narcotics and then i got the shakes...
i should have paid attention to the picture on the can...
it does what it says on the packet

jay-z dans paris
just as i was (thankfully) starting to level out, jay-z arrived...
i started the shoot talking about how i like to wear glasses too, but for the cover shot would he mind taking his glasses off?
he pointed out 'this is about me, not about you...'.
but he said it with style and a smile.
i needed to be reminded.
had a really good shoot, which ended on the roof.
also discussed how maximum likes to wear rocawear but the trousers come up too long for young english boys and how i've got a nice red towelling rocawear leisure-suit but i thought it might be too much to wear to the shoot.
he always looks hard in pictures but he's very friendly and smiles a lot off camera.
often the way.
now we're back to blighty on da train back to ashford.
whoever thought to get that train to stop there is a genius...
