when in rome...

when in rome...

i didn't want to open the curtains of my hotel room: i could see it was light outside but i couldn't tell if it was sunny or overcast.
eventually drew them with some trepidation.
the roman gods were smiling kindly on us: a beautiful sunny day: just like yesterday when we were doing all the location hunting.

this defied our usual rule of business: if we're planning a shoot outside it ALWAYS rains...usually torrentially.

had a leisurely breakfast.
did some hard soduku to focus my mind.

met morrissey and some others at his hotel at 1.30pm ish.
spent two hours photographing around central roma in perfect light and good humour.
broke for a mid shoot, short tea break.

sometimes when i meet my heroes, it's a bit of a let down...and then i can't enjoy (any of) their work anymore as it reminds me of them.
morrissey did not disappoint.
i still love him.
he was great.
i can't wait to hear the new album: apparently it's the best yet.

finished the shoot happy and hungry, and loving rome.
i will have to come back soon to see much more.

went for a drink with john, frances, andy and andrew (from mojo).
and went for dinner with just frances to a traditional italian (strangely) called 'paris' that we had been recommended.
had the best ever proscuitio and mozerella.
and four other courses with champagne.

i also LOVE italian food.
