danger men cooking

danger men cooking

this morning, i went shopping at tescos for our weekly food shop.
i normally do this on an early sunday morning.
i was a strangely different crowd of people shopping today.
mainly young mums and old folk.

this afternoon, it was maximum's first school sports day (in victoria park).

this was the finishing line tape.
as mrs.perou always cooks for our sons, i often cook for us: i always have actually (it guarantees a decent portion).
so i took immediate offence at this gender stereotyping.

here's maximum just about to lose his cool realising that he's finishing third out of three in the sack race.
immediately after this, he started crying and got stuck 10ft from the finishing line.

i was cheering him on and encouraging him just when another parent pushed me in the back and said 'go on: be a good parent: go and get him.'
she was veeery lucky i remembered where i was and i didn't turn round unleashing some vitriolic rage in her direction (i hate being pushed or prodded and i HATE people offering me parenting advice).

i felt like i was doing something wrong so i got up and picked him up and then i felt more stupid with myself because i'd not stuck to what i was doing already.
old cow.

anyway, i congratulated maximum on finishing third.
i didn't tell him 'it's the winning that's important: do whatever it takes: cheat: use two hands' in the egg and spoon race (like our friend ben was shouting to his son).
they all got a medal anyway.

we finished jointish 2nd on the father and son race.
it was silly competitive/dangerous.

fun times were had anyway.

at the same time as we were having fun times, there were some less fun times being had on the other side of town.
mrs.perou was with her sister getting her sister's results from a hospital test.

MASSIVE love and best wishes to auntie emma here.
