T I X Ë
made myself late struggling with the shelves in the sitting room.
all is compounded by the sloping floors, walls and ceiling.
i'm starting to hate DIY.
but feel like i should try and recoup some of the money i've wasted on the well (by not spending anymore on things that i could / should be able to do myself).
i've 'invented a great new sound': everytime i move my head from left to right there's a loud crack inside my neck.
it's quite disturbing.
it doesn't hurt but it is clearly audible to anyone standing within 6 feet of me.

boys and girls
whenever i'm asked what my favourite record (ever) is, i always say sigue sigue sputnik's 'flaunt it: dress for excess' or bryan ferry's 'boys and girls'.
i could listen to 'boys and girls' over and over again...i often do.
such a slick, smooth album, way ahead of it's time: like nothing else.
here's a strangely over exposed digital shot of me and one of my heroes, photographed by frances today.
stranger still, while i was photgraphing bryan, he mentioned that frances reminded him of a magician's assistant.
(it's the way she works)
which is very perceptive as no-one (including bryan) has seen the pictures of frances from 'the wheel of fortune' shoot where she IS a magician's assistant.
(hopefully that might come out soon...tbc)
bryan was very easy, unpretencious and friendly.
and he gave me a signed copy of my all time favourite album.
was good to meet/shoot him...i'm going to do some more (if he likes what we did today).
the boring continues:
after returning to the farm, i decided i needed some more mdf from b&q.
i phoned ahead to canterbury and checked they had a wood cutter operator working and what time they shut.
i drove to canterbury.
i found the wood cutter operator...but they'd sold out of mdf.
so i drove back to whitstable and bought some mdf.
then drove back to canterbury to get it cut.
but the wood cutter was broken.
eventually someone fixed the wood cutter, i got the wood cut and drove back to the farm.
2 hours and 34 miles.
