hamilton: enter stage right
our lonely peahen has a new play thing: a 2yr old toy boy...which maximum has named 'hamilton' (after the great lord hamilton who cuts his hair).
hamilton will spend the next few weeks locked up in a fairly luxurious pen till he gets used to the place (and doesn't fly off immediately).
the peahen (which maximum has named 'ruby'...possibly after my grandmother?) was showing very early signs of desperately trying to get in to the pen and get busy with hamilton.
which is a good sign.
but hopefully she's going to play it a bit cool and not scare the young bird.
big thanks to trevor (smith) who brought the bird down to us on a 450 mile trip across england.
feels good to have a peacock back here.
i'm looking forward to hearing him shouting about.
hope our (evil) cat, 'mouse' doesn't get ambitious.
i've given up on him: the countryside has turned the boy wild: he's gone ferral: it's all the killing he's been doing.
