the perou castle to be?
actually, it's not as ridiculous as it sounds.
my people were Huguenots: run out france back in the day (1500-1789AD) for not being pope-lovers (we're still not).
having survived being burnt alive in churches, we chipped over to england gave up our silk-weaving past and bought up a load of public houses in 'sarf' london.
the 'white hart' in brixton was ours: my grandad was the last in a long line of family to be there.
anyway, i digress: it seems my family has traced us back to a nice castle on the french coast looking north to england, where we ended up.
it's been derelict for centuries but unfortunately the french equivalent of the national trust took it over and has restored it for 'the people' (not of hackney wick et al but of france).
'merde!'
claiming it, as it's rightful owners, might prove more difficult that keeping the factory intact.
this old 'castle' is in oxley woods: our current walking haunt for stratford.
there's been a few raves in it and it's in a bad way...but we want it: i asked maximum: he concurred
i wonder what the chances of the LDA swopping the factory for it would be?
i'll ask on monday.
i'm LOVING the new depeche mode album...particularly the song: 'nothing's impossible': could be the soundtrack of the moment.
