i have a degree in toilet application
woke up at 2am thinking i'd had a full night's sleep and was annoyed when i realised i hadn't.
went back to broken sleep till 5.30am and got up: over-thinking and over-worrying about today's shoot.
had breakfast: toast with margarine and (strawberry) jam...
can't remember the last time i ate margarine.
my mum and dad always used to get us 'stork SB' (link)
we are staying in apartments in shibuya: i got my own washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave etc...
and this toilet you need a diploma in, to understand.
having experimented with some of the controls, i have ascertained it can't be used for everything (including the 'ordinary') from washing your bum to giving you a cheap and unexpected thrill.
i want one (a toilet like this...not a cheap, unexpected thrill...).
the only obvious drawback with the apartment is that it doesn't have cable which is a shame as i miss watching the english spoken international news and i'm not able to go to sleep to japanese porn: the sound of girls bleeting like larry the lamb, cavorting around with digitally pixelated (fuzzed out) pubic areas...
met the crew and the jiggy blacked-out location bus.
was very, very pleased to see our male models who, when dressed, totally became the characters we wanted them to be for this fashion shoot.
met our cast of thousands (23 girls) and did our shoot all day in various locations around tokyo.
can't be too specific about the shoot: pictures will follow here after publication.
by the last shot, me, olie (fashion editor) and frances (side-kick: sherpa), the english, were all passing out za-za.
finished the shoot at a posh hotel in akasaka with a couple of nude girls and a semi-naked male model.
we were rescued at the last minute by the assistant hair stylist's girlfriend who was an actress and didn't mind getting naked.
nudity here, in girl modeling, isn't quite the done thing.
finished at 8.30pm after 13.5hrs.
despite the urgent need to collapse into sleepy mess, haruo came over and took me and olie out for a 'monyja' meal: a traditional japanese style of food that i've never had before: it was amazing: super delicious.
ate clams for the first time ever and also octopus, sea urchin etc...
was too tired (and hungry) to resist.
frances too tired to join us.
all in all a good day: think the shoot's looking good.
shot half on film and half on digital.
haruo gave me and mrs.perou a present of a photo album he did from when he stayed with us at the factory in 2001.
amazing to see some of the pictures: he shot stuff at ours that i never photographed.
and now i'm sitting here listening to the 'deep dish' album: wishing i'd seen them play ministry last week as i was intending to.
their track 'say hello' takes me straight back to the night i saw them play NY on a full moon a couple of months ago.

screaming love hole
my new favourite band (sorry dave)
this is despite never having heard any of their music...
