my day

my day
the not sleeping thing is starting to grate.

spent the morning working from the laptop and washing/drying laundry in my 'apartment' room.

picked up the films from the 2nd fashion shoot here which were happily not as high contrast as the last.
did a-bit-a lame shopping in harajuku: i'm just not in the mood.

at 1pm met miya and some of her friends (photo by ms.frances hood) outside shibuya 109 and shot a few portraits in a quiet street in shibuya.

i hate retouching on this laptop: i'm waiting till i get back to my calibrated g5 before i get to work on what i've been shooting here.
this is frustrating though: i want to see the finished fruits of our labour.

did some more walking around shibuya and harajuku with a view to shop.
got maximum a cool hysteric glamour long sleeved t-shirt and another from neighbourhood.
it's also frustrating that i can get my 3yr old better clothes than i can get myself.
perhaps i have an imature style.
got very tired.
stopped in another english pub which smelt of stale sick and picked up some take-out strongbow.

headed to nacano shimbashi and met haruo on the way.
a gyoza fest at nanaco's house: the rematch: last time i was in tokyo nanaco's son jan (who was then 10 and not as tall as me) beat me in a 'who can eat the most gyoza' contest.
nanaco's friend 'now' makes the BEST homemade gyoza.
we ate 150 between 6 of us and only 4 of us were really eating.
i've been fantasising about now's gyoza since the last time i was here.
had a lovely evening.
haruo brought round his latest project: '10 colours, 10 girls' and we had an after dinner viewing of his superb (and saucy) pictures.
he is the master.
his book also featured 'sugar moko' who i photographed and who is one of the most beautiful japanese girl i've ever met.

couldn't keep my eyes open by 11pm.
caught a cab home with frances and haruo.
straight out to sleep.

and while i was sleeping this was going on back home:

mrs.perous day

mrs.perou emailed me her diary: i thought i'd share it with you...

"On the way to pick up maximum my car sunroof jammed (oh joy: yes again)
Rang the garage, have to take it to wimbledon Wednesday.
took z to the doctors at 5pm.
5.30 p.m we had to dash to a chemists to get his prescription for
antibotics.
So we went to panic attack asda 'cos I figured my car would be
safer there than at ghetto tesco.
Maximum threw a 1st class tantrum in asda 'cos he wanted "the superman toy".
Its late and he's tired.
Mental note: mustn't buy any more toys for him in supermarkets.
Mummy steeled her nerve and wheeled trolly with screaming child through the
shop smiling sweetly at people.
No toy for maximum.
Maximum screamed all the way home: he wanted "daddy".
Bathtime.
Z screaming this time.
After bath, both screaming.
Maximum wanted an orange.
Fed z put him to bed.
Went and taped up my open sunroof using bin-liner & masking tape.
Then maximum 2 bed
Maximum wakes z up.
Z now crying........
More cuddles
More crying...
etc..."

so, i'll stop whinging about the lack of sleep and beig tired then.
no excuses: i got it easy
